Collage Tutorial

Come along with me as I start a new journal and fill in the front of my journal with paint, images, stickers, and washi tape. I usually just start putting in things I like and it is kind of an ordered chaos. If you decide to do this project I would love to see what you come up with! Share below or tag me on social media so I can see your end result.

Resources Used Today

A colleague once shared this resource as something she shared with her kids when they were making zines. It is hands down one of my favorite places to go for collage materials- their monthly collections were just amazing. It is no longer being updated at this time it is an archived site but you can still go and get access to their collage kits. 10/10 would recommend.

I also mentioned using the distress oxide pad of ink as the first layer. I have the colors listed below as well as some brighter colors. I like these because they dry really quickly and you can write over the top of them with anything. It is a good feeling ink and it doesn't bleed through on the paper.

The tombow dual sided tape applicator goes everywhere with me, because I can easily make anything a sticker. I love this. You can also buy refills for the applicator for really cheap.
I bought these paint pens on a whim because my daughter was getting into painting rocks we found on our walks. These paint markers work on everything, the painted rocks did need a protective coat but if you are using these in your journal or even on the outside of your journal they are great! Much cheaper than the posca pens too.

The micron pens are my go to, they do not bleed when I use a highlighter over them, and don't seem to smear in my journal. I usually buy the 05 size micron and use that for everything, but every once in awhile I want to use a smaller or larger nib pen. So having a few of them is handy.

I can't wait to see your collages! Please tag me in them if you share on social media or send me an email.
