The One About The Kids Watch

Picture
This summer has been a short one, and with a few weeks scheduled at each grandparents house Molly hasn't actually spent that much time at home. We have tried to set up a routine of sorts, She knows she has a summer packet from school that she is supposed to work on, she is supposed to be reading 30 minutes everyday, she has to unload the dishwasher every day, and practice piano.

Enter the routine watch...
Here is my honest review...
  1. I really like the app interface. Molly seems to really enjoy ticking items off her "chore list" (she is like her mom in some ways apparently). She gets a reminder and I get a reminder. There is also a little gamification added into the app because you can give your child "stars" as a reward for completing different tasks.
  2. The watch itself looks like an apple watch, at a fraction of the cost.
  3. The band is too small. I think the watch itself is really meant for 3-7 year olds- although you see an older "brother" in the add wearing and using the watch. I think the watch is a good idea for older kids like Molly. The company should sell more sizes in bands. As the company says though you can switch out the band with a standard 15mm in width spring bar system. These are kind of hard to come by, the apple watches are much larger in width- so most bands now don't go below 16mm. So if you are getting the watch for an older kid- pay attention to that. (see tutorial video below)
  4. The app allows for you to have different schedules for example, one for summer, and one for school. Obviously when school starts back up that schedule will be a lot more complicated.
  5. When you buy the "bundle" it comes with an octopus nightlight/charging station- which Molly thinks is great.

Price for the bundle: $79.99
Just Watch $59.99

I haven't tried the app for myself. But I guess if ever I will get the chance to use it, I will enjoy it! I just have to exert an effort to understand how to works so that I will never get lost. by the way, I didn't know that it was launched last 2018. It has been a year since it was lurched and many phone applications might have come. I am hoping that it is still part of the trend and many people are still using it since you had a pretty good review about it.
